Piotr Dollár

Piotr Dollár

Biography

Piotr Dollar has been a researcher at Facebook AI Research (FAIR) since 2014 with a focus on deep learning and computer vision. Piotr received his PhD from UCSD in 2007 and then did a postdoc at Caltech for so long that he leveled up to the coveted “senior postdoc” title. After this, and prior to seeing the deep learning light, Piotr helped cofound Anchovi Labs (acquired by Dropbox in 2012) and then spent some years dabbling in shallow research at Microsoft Research (MSR). These days you’ll find him pretending to be a manager while quietly pursuing his research.
